Zok Zok Heroes
Zok Zok Heroes (Japanese: ぞくぞくヒーローズ) is a Japanese Game Boy Color role-playing video game, released on August 4th 2000[1], and attributed to Media Factory, 十八Van Planning and KAZe, with character design by Manavu Kashimoto.
It may fall loosely under the monster battling genre in that many different characters are available to summon and fight in battle. It is based on the culture of transforming superheroes in Japan, and makes heavy use of the Game Boy Color's infrared sensor.[2]
The game came in a very large box (relatively speaking for a Game Boy Color game) and was packaged with the "Full Changer" (Japanese: フルチェンジャー). The Full Changer can be used to transform into different characters, by shaking the Full Changer in different patterns.
Name[edit | edit source]
"Zok zok" is a Japanese onomatopoeia with multiple meanings. It could describe a sound effect for successive hits one after the other, shivering, or a sense of thrill.[3]
